About Koinonia Center
119 Elder Street Fairburn, GA 30213
The Koinonia Center was started by a few women who wanted to bring the "contemplative side" of worship and studies to the south side of Atlanta. We're interested in delving in deeper to our Christian roots as well as learning and sharing more about Emerging Christianity and the Emerging Church.
In December of 1989, the Kimbrel Family purchased the beautiful 118 year old historic home in the city of Fairburn, Georgia. In July of 2011, it became clear to Cathy Kimbrel that God was calling her to open her home to this ministry. Thus, was born the Koinonia Center. On October 16, 2011 a Blessing Ceremony was held to dedicate the home and and all who would pass through to God's Glory.
